Starvation doesn't work..

Firstly... let's do away with any ideas of a starvation diet, they just do not work and they are likely to do more harm than good, both physically and mentally. But, if you use the method I recommend you will be rewarded by quick and safe weight loss... this is a great way to lose weight.

Exercise helps..

To help things along, you could start an exercise regime to increase your metabolic rate and burn calories that way. This is great and is a superb way to strengthen the cardiovascular system and hopefully improve your chances of living longer and living healthier. In my opinion though it is not effective on its own as a weightloss program. It's also impossible to combine this with a diet because the body will be far too weak from food deprivation to function properly, the last thing your body will want to do is exercise. If you are looking for an easy weight loss program this is obviously not it.

Combine the two and you can't lose..

However, if you combine exercise with a good weightloss program, such as mine, a program that feeds and builds your body and doesn't deprive it, it becomes very effective. You will be amazed just how quickly you can change you health, appearance and mental attitude, this is highly recommended.

Let's start by breaking down a few barriers and put some passion into realising that fit lean body!
Common excuses:

“I think about exercise but never get round to it” Focus on the benefits of a fit, lean body. Make exercise an important part of your daily regime. Prioritise your health!

“I exercise but don’t enjoy it” You’ve chosen the wrong kind of exercise – find something new that excites you (and makes you laugh)… fencing, rock-climbing, horse-riding, skating. Turn exercise into a hobby, not a chore.

“I exercise now and then, but lose interest quickly” Vary your exercise, do something different three times a week, with different people, join a few team sports, make new friends.

“I look at everyone else and it puts me off” Stop comparing yourself. Everyone has to start somewhere. Focus on the outcome. In a few months, others will be looking at you in awe, and feeling as you did!

“Life is too busy, I don’t have time…” Excuses, excuses! Life is infinitely changeable; you are in charge of how you spend your time. Choose to make appropriate changes – the alternative is ‘staying stuck’!

“I exercise but don’t seem to acheive much weight loss!” You probably need to adjust your diet further – increase your fresh food intake, especially fruit and vegetables, reduce refined carbohydrates and increase protein. Are you doing three or four 40-minute sessions of intensive activity each week?

 


 

“Exercise is BORING!” Add the ‘people’ element. Find friends and family who will join you, think of it more as a chance to get together, catch-up and have a few laughs (whilst you exercise of course!).

“Exercise just makes me tired” Then you need to adjust your diet and top up your fuel tanks before and after exercise.

Exploit your Endorphins! If you perceive or imagine something to be pleasurable, it triggers the release of ‘happy chemicals’ in the body, endorphins.

If you perceive something as threatening or unpleasant, your body releases adrenalin.

Endorphins relax tissues, neutralise pain, and enhance the immune system and blood flow.

Laughter and a consistent smile release endorphins, so too do ‘happy activities’.

This powerful ‘endorphin effect’ can give your workouts an ‘extra edge’. So before each session, think ‘fun’, make it your intention to enjoy what you do, and make use of that natural ‘happy high’!
